M1_Young Chef Series

The new M1_Young Chef Series is now available in a 22-fret short scale in a shape reminiscent of the Mustang and customized by CGK. In addition to the characteristic checkered stitching and V pickguard, original pickups were developed exclusively for this new series from a manufacturer in Osaka. The Alnico V pickup was developed using a thin magnet wire to best match the basswood body, and the winding pattern and coil tension were also carefully selected. The pickups are balanced and function great even at high volume. It is available in four colors: Black Olive, Carmine Apple, Navel Orange, and Basil Green. The strap pin is one size larger to prevent it from falling off even during intense live performances. This is a piece with a lot of attention to detail. The short scale makes it easy to play even for women. Tremolo is standard/ .

Even if the sound is good at low volume, such as when playing in a room, there are times when the sound is too painful for the ears when played at high volume at live events or in the studio. We tried many times to make a prototype that would cover both of these aspects. As a result, we were able to increase the power (output) while still retaining the unique, sparkling sound of the MG, and we also achieved a sound that is not painful to the ears even at high volumes! We also gave the head and body shape a new design this time. Please use the arm and play it hard!

The finish is nitrocellulose lacquer, which was used on guitars in the 50s and 60s. The finish is thin, so the lacquer is easily scratched or chipped if the guitar is bumped, but we hope you will enjoy the patina that develops over time.
Please note that the finish may react with heat, rubber materials, or acetone (such as nail polish remover) and melt, discolor, or peel off. When propping up the guitar on a guitar stand, we recommend using a cloth or a special cover for the rubber part.

We make guitars that are “really uplifting to play” when you pick them up. We’re not just focused on looks, but also on sound. Most customers who have tried them out have been surprised by how easy they are to play and how good they sound, saying things like “I underestimated them because of their looks”.

There are two types of head: one with an angle like a Gibson head, and one without. It is generally considered that a head with an angle is better for putting tension on the strings. The M1 does not have an angle, so we have added two string guides. There are guitars with no string guides or only one string guide, even though the head does not have an angle, but we always add two.

The new M1 series has arrived from Caramel’s Guitar Kitchen, a handmade electric guitar manufacturer based in Fukuoka. It features a distinctive checkered stitch and pick guard, and a CGK-designed Mustang-style 22-fret short scale. The colors are Yogurt White, Sparkly Red (with glitter), and Sparkly Blue (with glitter), all of which are exclusive to Musicland KEY. The strap pin is a size larger to prevent it from falling off even during intense live performances. This is a guitar that has been carefully crafted down to the smallest detail. (The short scale makes it easy for women to play.) Two types are available: the M1K with tremolo arm and the M1K2 without arm. The hardtail bridge with a vintage-style saddle on the M1K2 has two types of string holes: one on the back of the body and one at the back of the bridge. You can choose the one you prefer, as each has a different feel in terms of tension, sustain and playability.
